A weather widget was added to the lock screen of Windows 11 after being tested by Windows Insider program participants.
A new Climate Widget for the lock screen is now available to all users.

The January update (KB5034123) for Windows 11 introduces a revamped lock screen experience, which includes a new weather widget, as reported by Taras Buria of NeoWin.

The weather information feature on the Windows lock screen was introduced about 12 years ago when Windows 8 was launched. The updated version now offers improved functionality, showing additional details and enhanced visual elements. Clicking on the card will lead the user to a page in Microsoft Edge with further weather information.
Introduction and release date
The new climate widget for the lock screen on Windows 11 will be available to all users soon, with a similar feature also coming to Windows 10.
