The Windows 11 Capture Tool now allows users to include geometric shapes in their screenshots. This feature was revealed by a user named “PhantomOfEarth” on “X” (a new social media platform) through a demonstration video showcasing the updated image editing capabilities post capturing with the Windows 11 Capture Tool.
Add geometric shapes in the Capture Tools editing feature.

PhantomOfEarth successfully activated the geometric shapes input feature in the Capture Tool app through Windows 11. NeoWin’s Taras Buria states that this functionality is not included in recent updates for Windows Insider participants, requiring users to make it appear manually.

Snipping Tool will soon allow users to include shapes like circles and arrows in the images they are editing.
It will soon be possible to enhance the Capture Tool by adding various shapes like squares, circles, arrows, and lines, as well as adjusting their colors, fillings, and line thickness.
The Capture Tool app’s new feature is beneficial for minor edits, streamlining the process by eliminating the necessity of using additional applications like Paint 3D, another Microsoft app included in Windows by default.
Introduction and release dates
Microsoft is expected to introduce the capability to include geometric shapes in the Capture Tool application in the upcoming Windows 11 updates for Insiders on Canary and Dev channels.
