Microsoft has confirmed that Windows 12 will not be released in 2024.

Microsoft announced in the Windows Insider Blog that insiders will encounter a fresh release of Windows 11 (24H2) in the settings menu, described as an annual update of operating system features.
Windows 11 24H2 being designated as a yearly update means that “Windows 11” will not be released in 2024. Despite Qualcomm proposing a potential release of Windows 12 this year, Microsoft has chosen to stick with Windows 11 for the time being.
Windows 12 has not been cancelled and could be released in 2025 or beyond. The upcoming Windows 11 24H2 update is expected to introduce new features possibly linked to Copilot and Microsoft AI integration.
