Google and Samsung are collaborating on the development of Wear OS 5, an operating system for smartwatches built on Android 14. According to Kyle Bradshaw from 9to5google, the updated version of Wear OS for smartwatches is expected to be released in 2024, with Samsung gearing up to provide the optimized Wear OS 5 for the Galaxy Watch 7.
Wear OS 5 is expected to be launched by 2024.

Galaxy Watch 7 is rumored to launch with Wear OS 5 and the Exynos 5535 chipset, as suggested by leaker Roland Quandt.
Galaxy Watch 7 is based on Exynos 5535 (again, internal model number, not official marketing name. Guess would be Exynos W940 based on earlier models.
There’s also an Exynos 5400 (internal model #, no clue, but it is a mobile and likely wearable thing)
Also Exynos 6375 exists.

Galaxy Watch 7 is powered by Exynos 5535, which seems to be internally referred to as Exynos W940, with other models like Exynos 5400 and Exynos 6375 also available.
It is highly probable that the Pixel 3 will be released with Wear OS 5 around September to November 2024, alongside the Galaxy Watch.
Google may start releasing a new version of Wear OS every year, as Wear OS 5 is set to be launched soon, breaking from the previous trend of not aligning with Android’s release schedule.
Wear OS 2 is slowly depleting its assets
As more versions of Wear OS are released, Wear OS 2 is losing key features like Google Assistant access and News Tile. Users still on Wear OS 2 are advised to consider upgrading to a model with Wear OS 4 or above.
