Nintendo handles games by replicating Pokémon.

Nintendo is taking legal action against the PokeZoo card game for allegedly using visual elements and names associated with the Pokémon series without permission. The company registered its brand in November 2021, but Nintendo’s lawyers have now issued a cease-and-desist order. This situation is reminiscent of the recent controversy surrounding Palworld, another game that has faced threats from Nintendo.

Nintendo copies Pokémon games but not Palworld for processing.

PokeZoo has elements resembling Pokémon, such as its title, creature design similar to Gengar, and Pokébola in Fastball colors. The marketing for PokeZoo includes the term Pokémon in ads promoting digital card packages priced from $1 to $40,000.

Palworld is currently not encountering any legal issues. The Pokémon Company has made a statement, but there is no certainty of any legal action being taken against the game, as there is no solid proof of it using elements from the Pokémon series.

Palworld is a new game available for Xbox and PC platforms that merges features from Pokémon and Minecraft. Players can capture and build various monsters while tending to their farm, crops, and factories. The game offers real-time battles and third-person gameplay in an open-world setting.
